We are pleased to invite you to participate in the next webinar of the E2B2-PHACAR project (PTDC/BII-BIO/5626/2020), taking place on Friday, November 29th, at 2pm, dedicated to the dissemination of themes and innovative results of this project, as well as promoting debates within its main areas of study.

In this edition, two members of the E2B2-PHACAR team will present the themes they have been developing within the scope of the project: "Influence of Chemistry on the Elasticity of Hybrid Carrageenan Hydrogels", presented by João Alves, and "Comparison between Hybrid Carrageenans and Commercial Mixtures : from Chemical Structure to Application in Food", presented by Alice Monteiro.

The E2B2-PHACAR project: "Biorefinery based on Extractive Extrusion (E2B2) of biomass cascades of polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA), natural products and gel-hybrid carrageenans (CAR)" aims to explore a new concept of bio refinery, namely bio refinery based on extractive extrusion (E2B2). In it, biomass is fed into an extruder to continuously and sequentially extract a cascade of bio products. Two biomasses - algae and polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) fermentation slurry - are studied for the extraction of various PHA and carrageenans.
